Assumption Day and Crowning Ceremony 2019
The highly illustrious Assumption Day and Crowning Ceremony (Feast-Day of the Virgin Mary) was impressively celebrated with careful attention to all the ceremonial details and accompanying proceedings. The momentous occasion also marking the significant milestone of Assumption University’s 50th Anniversary, started with the Grand Holy Mass presided over by H.E. Archbishop Paul Tschang In-Nam, Apostolic Nuncio to the Kingdom of Thailand and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps of Thailand, at the Chapel of St. Louis Marie de Montfort, followed by the Crowning Ceremony of the Virgin Mary (Statue) at “the Seat of Wisdom” performed by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus. The celebrative event taking place on August 15, 2019 at Suvarnabhumi Campus was participated by several honored guests including H.E. Mr. Geoffrey Quinton Mitchell Doidge, Ambassador and Extraordinary Plenipotentiary, the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa, his wife, Mrs. Carol Doige, H.E. Cavaliere Enzo Peroni, Representative of the Italian Ambassador and an AU Alumnus (Class of Year 2000), his wife, Mrs. Theresa Peroni, and Dr. Sutham Valaisathien, President, the Belgian-Luxembourg/Thai Chamber of Commerce, besides the AU top management team members, high-ranking executives, administrators, faculty members, the Provincial Superior, the Brothers of St. Gabriel, Sisters, Staff, students and other distinguished guests. The day ended with the commemorative party at the Chaturamuk Phaichit Thai Styled Pavilion.
