Biography

I, Dr. Sirichai Preudhikulpradab.

As the former student and co-worker of Dr.Perla, I came to know Dr.Perla at Assumption University as one of her MM students (Batch 4) in 2000 and later we became a co-worker at the same university. I have many great memories of my beloved teacher Dr.Perla and a few examples I would like to share with you.

THE FIRST GREAT MEMORY : Dr.Perla’s smile, which had also known to most OD students who have been touched by her smile, her rich personality, and of course, her rich wisdom and experience. Dr.Perla represented positive energy, encouragement, and possibility for her OD students. She helped many OD students breakthrough their thinking as they accomplished their academic journey.

THE SECOND GREAT MEMORY : She was the role model of an OD teacher who did not only impart knowledge to the students but also transform the lives of the OD learners and practitioners to reach their highest potential capacity. On the first day of my OD journey with Dr.Perla, who was my OD teacher and mentor, the second-order transformation immediately took place by her Whole Brain Literacy (WBL), which she strongly committed to this work and used it as her OD principle and values.

The entire OD community at Assumption University soon became an expert in the WBL application, embedded into our teaching and learning and academic research methodology. Even my Master’s and 1st Doctoral dissertation had been influenced by the Whole Brain Literacy (WBL), and still, the WBL is the genuine enabler for our OD students and me to explore, manage, pursue and connect as a holistic process of OD practice and education.

THE THIRD GREAT MEMORY : She was an international OD practitioner, academic, teacher, and Dolphin’s mother who affirmed and believed that the OD program must start at Assumption University. After the 1994 IODA conference with her and Brother Martin, the OD program’s conception began to emerge. Our ABAC OD program came to live in 1997 with the first batch and continued its ripple effect until today (2020) and beyond. She made everyone proud of the OD degree he/she obtained; it is an endless pride of her rich wisdom, commitment, passion, and dedication.

ON THE PERSONAL NOTE : one of the things I will always remember was my mother made two dresses made of Thai silk for Dr.Perla. My mom had to estimate Dr.Perla’s size from different photographs before meeting in person, and amazingly the dress fitted perfectly until about a year later when Dr.Perla asked me to contact my mother about making the dress a little roomier/spacious for comfort.
There are many great stories from my great teacher Dr.Perla. Although she has passed from the physical-learning for our OD learners and practitioners as a year to come.
