Thailand 9th Mozart International Piano Competition 2020

A highly talented Pianist AU music major, from Department of Music Performance, AU Louis Nobiron School of Music, Mr. Parikesit Tanudjaja  displayed his excellent piano expertise and skills during an International Piano Competition 2020: Group (Age 18-24 Years). The international competition was organized during October 23-25, 2020 at the Siam Ratchada Auditorium (Yamaha Ratchadapisek Music School), Bangkok, Thailand, among expert pianists competing for the Royal Trophy of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Exerting his excellent talent, Parikesit was unanimously and exclusively chosen as one of the five finalists and presented with the Certificate of Appreciation and thus advanced to the final stage of Thailand 9th Mozart International Piano Competition 2020.

Competing against other student contestants from public Mahidol and Silapakorn Universities, Parikesit excelled and reached the final range being chosen as one of the five finalists among other senior student winners. 

For the past three years, an AU Indonesian student, Mr. Parikesit has brought fame and reputation to Assumption University exhibiting his outstanding skills in an international and national classical music scenario.   

Specially trained by Dr. Paulo Zereu, a Brazilian Professional Pianist teaching in the AU Louis Nobiron School of Music, Parikesit has achieved excellent study records & numerous classical piano performances.

 

Mr. Parikesit’s Study Success & Performances

Mr. Parikesit started his study in Assumption University’s School of Music in 2016. He enrolled in Music Performance program majoring in Classical Piano Performance under the guidance of Dr. Paulo Zereu. In the four years of studying for his Bachelor of Music, Mr. Parikesit has participated in several International Piano Competitions. Among them are:

• Thailand 7th Mozart International Piano Competition (2017)
• Thailand 4th Chopin International Piano Competition (2017)
• Thailand 8th Mozart International Piano Competition (2018)
• Thailand 5th Chopin International Piano Competition (2019)
• 3rd SONE International Young Soloists Competition (USA, 2019)
• International Music Competition Brussels Grand Prize Virtuoso (Belgium, 2019)
• Thailand 9th Mozart International Piano Competition (2020).

 

Mr. Parikesit was awarded the Second Prize in International Music Competition Brussels Grand Prize Virtuoso 2019 and fulfilled the invitation honor to perform in the Winners’ Concert at Centre of Fine Arts Brussels, Belgium. He also was enlisted in the Honorable Mentions in the 3rd SONE International Young Soloists Competition 2019, which took place in Boston, USA. Mr. Parikesit has also been chosen as the few Finalists of Thailand 5th Chopin International Piano Competition 2019 as well as Thailand 9th Mozart International Piano Competition 2020.

Mr. Parikesit received a scholarship grant from Assumption University and he graduated along with Assumption University Graduation Class of XLVIII. He graduated with Summa Cum Laude Honor for achieving Grade Point Average of 3.94 throughout his study.
